It's time to catch a Leprechaun! Let's start by having an engaging story time to learn about that mischievous Leprechaun that makes his appearance every St. Patrick's Day. Then we'll spend some time brainstorming ways to build a trap to catch him! Learners will be encouraged to use typical household items such as; cereal boxes, construction paper, toilet paper tubes, popsicle sticks, straws, etc. Shiny and rainbow colored items are a plus. After all, Leprechauns are attracted to them. We'll finish class with time to start building our Leprechaun traps. If you are looking for something to engage your learners and keep them busy for awhile, register them for this class. They'll have a blast exploring STEM in this meaningful challenge.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Maryland Certificado de Docencia en Educación elemental
I grew up in Wisconsin where I completed my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education at UW Stout. I've taught for the public school system for 14 years in a variety of positions including classroom teacher, interventionist, ELL teacher and elementary science lab teacher. I hold a Masters Degree in Reading and School Administration from Johns Hopkins. After leaving the public school system I've spent the last several years teaching middle school Science and History at a homeschool tutorial while being a homeschool mom. I enjoy teaching hands on engaging courses that spark the interest of students with the ultimate goal of encouraging them to become life long learners. I welcome student interaction and questions.
In my personal life I LOVE to read, travel and explore new areas, especially the beach! I am a Girl Scout leader and adore every single girl in my troop. As a troop leader I am certified in several outdoors areas- archery, canoe, kayak, camping, etc. I can't wait to share some of my love of the outdoors with families here on Outschool.
