***I love Legend of Zelda SO much! And, I'm sure that you do too, since you're checking out this class. To sweeten the deal, use my promo code TUCKEZELDAFAN5 to get $5 off this class!*** This is a fun club facilitated by the teacher. Every week we will focus on a different facet of the Legend of Zelda series. This course is designed for superfans (learners who have been completely and totally immersed in the world of Legend of Zelda) who have an immense working knowledge of the series. Students are encouraged to bring part of their Legend of Zelda collection or even dress up to share in class (especially those items related to the week’s topic!). We have conversations, play trivia and other games, draw, and sometimes make crafts. Please see schedule below. 2025 Week of Feb 16 All Zelda Games ~ Bingo! Conversational Activity MORE WEEKS TO BE ADDED! If any extra materials or supplies are necessary for the week’s class, teacher will post the supply list in the classroom (normally a week prior to the session). Some weeks are just for chatting for social time, but other weeks we will play fun trivia games, make a craft (depending upon whether or not current subscribers like or dislike crafting) or make up a fun story together about the game we’re discussing. In the case that supplies are needed, they will not be anything beyond traditional crafting items (think paper, glue, tape, markers, paint, etcetera) or an extra device such as a cell phone (in addition to the device used to see the classroom) for the games. For "Chat and Play" days all games may include any of the Legend of Zelda games unless otherwise specified. 🗓️ Dates there will be NO classes scheduled. You will NOT be charged for weeks that do not have classes scheduled, so it is NOT necessary to un-enroll that weeks. In 2024, I will NOT be scheduling any classes for the following weeks: * July 7th due to a prior Spanish interpreting commitment. 🪅 Classes will resume the week of July 14th. * December 22nd and 29th due to Christmas. 🎄 Classes will resume the week of January 5th.

This is NOT a gaming class (we don't usually play the game during class time) BUT I do understand that some learners make friends in class and want to become Nintendo friends or share gamer tags for video games they can play together. Upon signing up, PLEASE keep in mind and follow Outschool's policy for gamer tags:
* Learners or parents should message gamer tags directly through a private message
* Never allow learners to share their gamer tags in the classroom page (this means teacher or parents should delete comments from learners that do). Thank you!

Occasionally we may play Kahoot! which requires an additional device such as a tablet or cell phone to play. At times we will make crafts, and the teacher will put up the supply list in the classroom prior to class time (normally a week in advance).

Welcome, gamers! I am Gaming Teacher Laura and I offer fun gaming classes in a safe, secure environment for gaming pros and newbs alike! I enjoy geeking out over the latest Zelda merch, awesome Fortnite skins, and fun Minecraft builds.
Not sure about how to help your learner navigate a Water Temple? I gotcha! Help finding that last Lightroot? I also gotcha! Don’t know a thing about Fortnite? That’s ok: we’ve all been there and I’ll get your learner on the way to their first dub. Need a mining buddy? Say no more!
I can help your learner up their game, have a cool space to share their theories, collections, and knowledge (and we can do that in TWO languages: English or Spanish!)
❤️ My favorites ❤️
🎭 Majora’s Mask is the GOAT. 🗡️
🔫 My first Fortnite season ever: Chapter 2 Season 5 (go Baby Yoda AKA Grogu!). 🎮
⛏️ And I’m a chill survival mode Minecrafter: I love exploring new terrain (let’s find ancient city!) and building cozy houses. 🚪
I am a total geek and my hobbies/passions include what I do in classes: gaming, awesome geeky TV series, manga/anime, writing stories and making cool crafts. I’m also into anime/manga such as Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
Geekiness aside, I love spending time with family. I loves animals (especially dogs!) and have four Chihuahuas: Niko, Agatha, Dima and Midna (yes, as in Twilight Princess’s Midna!). 🐾
Important policies:
🎮 For gaming classes ~ I do understand that some learners make friends in class and want to become Nintendo friends or share gamer tags for video games they can play together. Upon signing up, PLEASE keep in mind and follow Outschool's policy for gamer tags:
* Learners or parents should message gamer tags directly through a private message
* Never allow learners to share their gamer tags in the classroom page (this means teacher or parents should delete comments from learners that do). Thank you!
* Break-out rooms ~ I implement a breakout room so that in larger gaming classes, learners can have fewer distractions while they play. Whenever possible I will be present in both the main room as well as the breakout room, as I will have a second device so that I can hear what is going on in both and aid/moniter ALL learners.
⌚️For all classes ~ My no-show policy is that if no learners are in the classroom after 10 minutes, the Zoom session will be ended (this is Outschool's general policy for no-shows).
⏺️ Class recordings: For safety reasons, I do not automatically release all recordings after class time. Safety reasons include but are not limited to: a non-verified learner in the group (has never attended class/refused to turn on camera) or a learner disclosing personally identifying information (such as their home address, birth date, etcetera). If your learner has missed part of a class and they would like to watch the recording, please reach out to me. I release recordings to learners that have attended classes, only when they miss a class project and they want to see how to do the project. ✂️🖍️
💳 Refund policies:
* Ongoing classes: These are subscription classes! If you have enrolled in an ongoing class, this means you are essentially paying for a subscription and you are paying each week for this class. Outschool sends parents/guardians emails about their subscription class to alert them about their payments. Each enrollment takes up a space that can’t be accessed by other learners; therefore, I will NOT be refunding ongoing classes on the basis of not knowing it is a subscription class.
* 🤒✈️ Courtesy refunds: I offer ONE courtesy refund per month to my ongoing learners, because I know life happens: we all have emergencies, get sick, have a trip. For a courtesy refund you must request the refund 24 hours in advance. No exceptions. If you cannot make the class for 2+ weeks my recommendation is to pause your subscription or unenroll until you know your learner can attend.
* Multi-day classes: I go by Outschool's limited policy.
* 👾For Gaming classes: Please remember to update your console/game (for example, Fortnite or Minecraft) prior to class time. For the first class if you are unable to play I may issue a partial refund, but following classes will not be refunded.
* 🤬 Strong language policy. While I know each family has its own standard as far as language, please remember that this is a PG-language platform and that learners should not curse during class time. If that happens, I normally give them a verbal reminder the first time. The second time, I will send a written reminder to the parent/guardian about the incident.
*💥 No-bullying policy. Harassment or perceived harassment is not allowed in my classes. This includes any kind of bias or offensive remarks regarding intelligence, social status, race, gender, etcetera. I will take the following steps if your learner(s) are purposefully making comments that offend or make another learner uncomfortable: 1) Verbal warning. This will include but is not limited to statements such as "Please be kind." "That is not kind." "Please remember that we need to be speaking kindly to each other during class time." as well as specifically stating that _____ (whatever was being said) is inappropriate. 2) If your learner(s) continue the harassment or perceived harassment, Outschool gives educators the option of placing the learner in a breakout room. I will remove the learner from the party and place them in the Zoom waiting room for 10 minutes. If the ten minutes go beyond the end of the class, I will let them in to say goodbye. 3) I will write all parents/guardians involved as well as loop Outschool in on the situation. 4) If there are repeated offenses, the learner will be placed in the waiting room for the duration of the class and I will be reaching out to Outschool and the parents/guardians regarding the situation and Outschool will decide whether or not to withdraw the learner from the class.
