The way you start the day has such a huge impact on the way the rest of the day goes! This unique morning meeting / circle time class will get your learner's day off on the right foot and set them up with the right mindset to have an amazing day! This format is what I used when teaching in brick and mortar classrooms, and it is amazing the difference it made in the way our days went when I started implementing this! 

Each class will start with a time of connection, where each learner will have the opportunity to share something good, positive, or encouraging, to activate JOY in our brains! 🧠 This can be something they are grateful for ("I'm grateful my mom made oatmeal for breakfast, because it's my favorite breakfast food!"), something fun they did since the last meeting "(I got to play Legos with my sister yesterday!"), something they are proud that they have accomplished ("I finished reading my first chapter book!"), etc. 

For the first class of the week, we then will read a story that demonstrates a character trait and/or growth mindset, then have a brief discussion about the lessons we can learn from that book! Students will be given a "challenge" to apply that lesson in their week and come to the second class ready to share an application. After the first class of the week, I will provide a printable worksheet and/or coloring page that has something to do with that week's topic. This will serve as a visual reminder of our lesson for the week! 

For the second class of the week, we will start with a time of connection, where learners will each get to share something positive, just like the first class of the week! Next, we'll do a mini lesson about the concept we learned earlier in the week, and students will get to share how they applied that lesson since our last class! Finally, we will end the second class of the week with show and tell! Each learner will get to share a favorite toy, a book they love, a piece of artwork they have made, or a beloved pet with the class. The second class of the week will be very interactive and a time for learners to get in lots of socialization! 

These morning meetings will be a time of rich, meaningful connection that will leave your learner encouraged and inspired to take on the day with a positive mindset!

EXAMPLES OF TOPICS TO BE COVERED:
Quite often, character qualities and growth mindset will go hand in hand, so it's highly likely we'll discuss both a character trait and a growth mindset most weeks, although sometimes we'll hone in on one or another. The topics below are examples of topics that will be covered. We may not go in this exact order, and there will definitely be additions to this list. If you'd like to know the topic for the week prior to registering for class, you're absolutely welcome to reach out!

📚 CLASS POLICIES 📚 

CLASS RECORDING POLICY: When you pay for one of my classes, you are paying for the LIVE class, just like if this were an in-person class! I do not share recordings of my group classes in order to protect the privacy of all learners (many parents do not feel comfortable with other families having access to videos that include their child). However, you are welcome to reach out if you have specific questions about something covered in class! You are also 100% welcome to attend this class with your child (off screen, per Outschool Policy) so that you are seeing and hearing the same content. 

REFUND POLICY: This is a twice-weekly, on-going class. Your weekly payment reserves a spot just for your child! Just like with in-person classes or extra-curricular events, refunds are not given when your child misses class. If you will be gone for an extended period of time, you may un-enroll your learner to open up their spot for another child and re-enroll upon your return, if space is available at that time.
