Esta clase se centrará en CVC, CCVC y 25 palabras de uso frecuente. Los estudiantes leerán y escribirán palabras segmentando y combinando fonemas. Aprenderemos canciones para ayudar a recordar palabras de uso frecuente. Los estudiantes pueden unirse en cualquier momento.

In this fast paced class we will focus on segmenting and blending phonemes to form CVC and CCVC words.  We will practice the first 25 high frequency words and learn songs to help with recall.
1. Student will learn Heidi Songs & Movements for 2 high frequency words each class
2. Teacher will use a whiteboard to guide students segmenting and blending phonemes to read CVC and CCVC words
3. Using provided handwriting paper, student will sound out and write CVC and CCVC words dictated by teacher
4. Students will take turns writing a word for the other students to read or write.

To take this course, students will need to be able to identify letters and letter sounds A-Z and a-z, students should have line control and grip to form letters on paper.

I have a Masters in Teaching and am licensed in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, as well as in Art Education.  Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in technology for eight years.  I have been teaching now for 10 years.  For the past 6 years I have focused on gifted education and early literacy.  I am currently working on an endorsement in Reading.  

In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, working on my artwork as well as my garden.
