Want to be more confident in your drawing of people?

Want to learn tried and true methods of approaching human anatomy and how to draw it in a realistic style?

Then join this weekly ongoing class, where every week we focus on a new aspect of the human body and I teach you how to draw it with a step-by-step method that makes it easy, fun, and leaves you with a wonderfully detailed and accurate drawing.

Students who love to draw humans and would like to learn drawing techniques to make them more realistic will greatly benefit from this class.

Whether you are a beginning artist just learning the ropes, or are an advanced artist hoping to sharpen your skills, this course is designed to walk students through simple techniques to enhance their drawings to the best of their abilities.

Classes begin with a welcome, introduction to the topic, and a warmup. Then we analyze our subject for the day and then students draw along with me as I do a demonstration. We refine basic shapes into a more refined drawing, practice details, and add shading. In the end, students leave every class with a finished drawing of the week's anatomy topic, and confident with a new approach to drawing the human body.

Below is the weekly schedule, subject to change. (Please note that classes are often adjusted to cater to the needs and interests of enrolled learners, so feel free to message us for any updates or clarifications):

Week 1: Eyes
Week 2: Hands
Week 3: Mouths
Week 4: Noses
Week 5: Hair
Week 6: Ears
Week 7: Frontal view of the face
Week 8: Angled view of the face
Week 9: The Figure
Week 10: Skull
Week 11: Feet
Week 12: Gesture drawing

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
✏️ I am an educator and practicing artist. I went to San Diego State University, receiving my bachelor’s degree in fine art and my single-subject teaching credential. I taught for four years in the San Diego Unified School District, working with students in grades 6-12. In 2021, I left to pursue my master’s degree at Laguna College of Art and Design. I will graduate with my master’s in drawing in the Spring of 2023. I am passionate about the arts, particularly using simple tools like graphite and charcoal. My work is primarily in grayscale, but I am well-versed in color theory and painting in various mediums and substrates. While creating art is my idea of fun, I find nothing more exciting than seeing young folks share the same sentiment. Creating art can be an incredibly rewarding tool to express yourself. I hope to nurture that with the students in the classroom. One fun fact about me is that I am a huge animal lover and have three dogs. They have even made appearances in my artwork! I love to draw inspiration from my surroundings and include them in my work.
