Welcome to ASL Now - Learn the Alphabet!  

I am excited to teach learners the alphabet in ASL - as that is a solid starting point.  I will teach the letters A - J for the first 30 minutes, and check for understanding.  I will teach the letters K - Z for the last 30 minutes.  I will structure the class so that at the beginning, I am modeling and you copy me.  The last portion of the class, I will call on a few students and see how the progress is going. It will be fun and interactive!  I enjoy sign language and I hope you will, too!  This class is a good starting point to see if you want to continue learning it! 
 It will be a fun experience.  Who knows? -  maybe Bejay, my 19 year-old cat, will lift his paw up and say, "Hello!"  I really am looking forward to meeting you for ASL NOW - Learn the Alphabet!  - Tonya

Students will learn the alphabet. During the first 30 minutes, I will teach the letters A - J.  During the last 30 minutes, I will teach K - Z.  I will be checking for comprehension.

No materials will be needed as each student will be copying me.   I will be checking as we go along to watch each student signing the letters, and be sure the student is understanding.  It will be interactive!

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente

I have 11 years' experience in Educational Interpreting in the public school system.  I have worked with many Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.  I have covered all subjects through the years.  I have a lot of experience with music and ASL.  I hope to teach courses on that in the future!  The alphabet in ASL is a very good start for beginners!
