In this 45 minute lesson, intermediate and advanced flute students will learn and practice the famous Flute and Piccolo solo from Sousas' "Stars and Stripes Forever" .
Students can learn the piece by memory or read it from the sheet music provided in resources.
We will start by  recognizing the notes. Then will practice the rythm. After that we will practice the fingerings in the flute or piccolo and then each student will play a measure after I play it for them. We will alternate so that each one gets to play all the measures slowly one at the time, and after that will start doing two  measures at the time and so on. We will address the challenges by using different practice techniques, such as changing the rythms of the notes or practicing with the Yo-yo technique.
