Class Experience:

Prevent summer slide and get your child's brain ready for their new school year in first grade with this 3 week course: Leap Into First! Kindergarten end-of-year skills will be reviewed, and basic first-grade beginning-of-year skills will be introduced. The class will begin with a simple meeting that reviews calendar skills, weather, and seasons. Three letters of the day will be reviewed and paired with a 2D or 3D shape. 

Topics:

Math, literacy, and basic foundational writing skills will be included where learners can review dictation, grammar, blending sounds to read unknown words, subitizing, counting strategies, and basic addition/subtraction word problems. Speech and language skills will be developed as learners will review how to take turns, listen, and speak in complete sentences. 

Learner Experience: 

Learners will have be presented with slides that act as a visual for extra learning support. Learners will participate in learning through games, worksheets, movement, and discussion.
