W.c. 10th February. Au marché. We will practise buying fruit, vegetables and other things from the market in France. French markets are also a meeting place for local people, so we will also review conversations with friends and have a drink at the cafe afterwards. La fête St Valentin is on Monday, so we will talk about things that we love - food, people, books....anything!!

w.c. 17th February. More things that we love/like/don't like/hate!!! We will play 2 truths and a lie - we will all say 3 things we love - but one of them will be a lie!!

w.c. 24th February. Review talking about ourselves. What things would you like you French friend to know about you? Maybe you have an unusual hobby/pet/favourite food? We can mix it up by talking about an Alter Ego - a made up person or a famous person that you know some details about.

w.c. 3rd March. Les numéros! We will do a big push on numbers today. Numbers 1-31 for dates. Numbers 0-59 for the time (So we can do the 24 hour clock, hours and minutes!!). If you are feeling brave, we can go to 100, so you will understand prices - there are 100 cents in a Euro (the currency in MOST of the European Union - but NOT in Iceland!!). We will play games (Loto and card games) and I will read some dates, times and prices out.

w.c. 10th March. On s'amuse bien. A fun class, where we talk about things that make us laugh, read a French comic book and try to say tongue twisters!

I will post more class themes soon!

French Club will include some of the following each week: songs, games, quizzes, a story time, role-playing, Lotto (Bingo), Guess Who and more.
Some reading of signs and other information will be included, along with some simple writing activities.
All students will be encouraged to ask questions as well as answering my questions and questions from classmates.
Please note that I will not be teaching grammar in a formal way in this class, though we may talk about things we want to do or have done, where the sentence starters will be treated as vocabulary.
Also, when I am in France I will try to teach classes from nearby towns, so that the learners have an opportunity to ‘visit’ (virtually) a real French town. Sometimes I will ask to change the time or day on the class so we can look round a nearby local château etc. Please let me know if you want your child to skip these Walkabout classes and I will make the necessary arrangements.

Metas de aprendizaje

Students will gain in confidence when speaking French and will be understood by a sympathetic native French speaker.
Students will learn to understand a range of spoken French statements, questions and answers.

Hi and Bonjour from the U.K. Thank you for looking at my profile and considering my classes for your children. I love teaching here on Outschool.

I am Kim Wark. I am English. I was born and brought up in London, but moved to Leeds for university and have lived in Yorkshire ever since.

1) I offer French classes to students of all ages and levels, from 4 year olds to 18 year olds, from Kindergarten to High School level. Classes may include singing, role play, storytelling and games. I have lived and worked in France and spend most school holidays there. I am looking forward to sharing my love of French with your child. When I am in France I teach classes from local places of interest.

2) I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education to teach French and English at secondary school (ages 11-18) and all subjects at Primary Level (ages 4-11).

I also have further qualifications in Special Educational Needs, including autism.

As part of my degree course I taught English for a year in a French school. I have taught pupils aged 3-18 in schools (state, private and Special Schools), students aged 16+ at Colleges and tutored individual students. Here on Outschool I teach students from around the world.

I home-schooled my younger son, who is autistic and has learning difficulties, for 8 years. I discovered the Montessori method and it worked really well for him. I have used a Montessori approach with pupils, including those with SEND.

3) My philosophy has always been to help children do their very best. I have been privileged to teach some amazing children who have made progress beyond what was predicted for them. I was thrilled to celebrate their success with them.

4) When I was about 5 years old my mum took me to a Horse Show because our late queen, Elizabeth II, was attending. Apparently, I piped up in the loud, clear voice of a 5-year-old, 'Mummy, where is the Queen?' She was standing right in front of me, but I didn't recognise her because she wasn't wearing her crown!!! So embarrassing!!!
