Know Your Constitution - the companion class to Know Your Rights where we study the powers of the government that are found in the seven articles of the Constitution through Supreme Court Cases. We look to understand the powers of the Supreme Court, Congress, and the Presidency through Supreme Court Cases. Why can the Supreme Court make the decisions that it does? Can the President declare war? Can Congress make you buy health insurance? After this class, students will have a more sophisticated understanding of the Constitution and how it applies to the functioning of government. You can jump into this class at any time as the lessons are designed allow easy access to new students. Here is the schedule for the January 2025 timeframe (topics subject to change). Metas de aprendizaje
Students will understand the Constitution at a deeper level than just the separation of powers and the checks and balances.
Students will learn to think through a problem and understand how and why our government works like it does.

I suggest that you take my Weekly class before jumping in to this class as the Weekly class will expose you to legal thinking and my teaching style before taking this class.
