This class will be a daily introduction and review of the following literacy skills and concepts.  The skills and concepts addressed in Section 1 are:
1. Correct letter formation for both upper case and lower case letters
2. Upper case and lower case letter identification
3. Beginning sounds
4. Reading basic words (mostly CVC) and illustrating to demonstrate comprehension 
5. Tracing sight words
6. Vowel identification for each sight word
7. Correct ordering of letters to write sight words and write missing letters
8. Identifying the shape (boxes) of a whole word (sight words)
9. Identifying a sight word in a small word search
10. This is a four day class and the homework will be provided for the student on the off day. The student can bring the homework back to the first day of class the next week to show Teacher Dayna.
***This class is designed as a daily review of the literacy skills posted above.  If a student is just learning the letter names of the alphabet then the parent should check out Teacher Dayna's Letter of the Week classes (dates soon to be posted) or  
***If Teacher Dayna sees that a student is needing assistance in a specific area, the teacher will talk with parents to have a (once a month) 30 minute tutoring session(cost $1.00) on the specific area the student is struggling with in the weekly class.

Week 6: review, Xx, R, S, T, U, a, b, c, - in/want;  Zz, letter review - said/be; Vv, letter review- big/he; Ww, letter review - play/she

Week 9: reading and writing sentences using the CVC words and sight words that have been learned in previous lessons
