If your student is struggling or if your student is advanced, then this is the class for you! I have 20 years of teaching children on ALL levels(Below average, average, and above average) math and reading instruction. In each tutoring session, we will review age appropriate skills unless you make a request. Your child will need a math notebook to use when working math problems. We will work a problem together to check for understanding before moving onto a more challenging skill.  Some of the math skills that we will work on are: Adding with and without regrouping, subtracting with or with out regrouping, measuring, solid shapes and geometry, counting beyond 100, number recognition to 100 and beyond, place value. Some reading skills that will be taught are reading fluency, phonics, sight words, reading comprehension, setting, story retelling, the main idea, etc.  I will also give a work packet to be printed off and we will complete it during class. If you do not have a printer, that is ok because I will have the worksheet displayed on screen for your child to see.  Your child is welcome to bring his/her homework to complete together.  Parent's often tell me how advanced his/her child is after taking my classes. I am here to make your smart child even smarter and show them how easy and fun math can be!  Below is an idea of what will happen during the tutoring session.


1. Arrival and discussion with the children are about what they are currently learning in math and if they need any help with the homework. We will work several problems to check for understanding.
2.We will sing some math songs that will help with repetition of math facts.
3. We will practice the new skill(Please bring extra paper or a marker board to each session)
4. Next, we will play a brain challenge game(I ask questions that make them think and show them how they can answer the question.
5. Last, we will wrap up the session with a review session reviewing math facts and other skills that we have already learned.



**Note: If you are wanting your child to have tutoring for 50 minutes a day then please book two consecutive times.
