K-1 - Lectura, matemáticas y tiempo en círculo y calendario multilingüe - Nivel 4

Welcome to the 4th level of our exciting and unique K-1 class! In this class, we will continue learning and practicing important skills that are necessary for a successful year in Kindergarten and 1st grade. We will also delve into some language learning as a part of this class. 

All learners are welcome to join at any time! 

For new students joining at this level, please keep in mind the following skills that current students have been introduced to and have had practice with: 

- reading the calendar and talking about days, months, weather and numbers in two languages
- creating rhyming words using all letters, blends and digraphs
- spelling 3 to 6 letter words by sight and memory
- using spelling knowledge to fill in the missing words for sentences
- reading all sight words from the Dolch 1st grade and 2nd grade lists 
- reading 10 page, age appropriate stories with 2 to 3 sentences per page 
- adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers with no regrouping
- counting coins and dollar bills and writing the amounts
- we will continue counting our days of class which will begin at this level from number 121. 

Each week, we will continue to focus on each of these important concepts which also includes calendar information such as days of the week, months of the year in two languages. We will continue counting, adding, subtracting, reading, writing, spelling, rhyming and we will do more writing. We will use a variety of engaging teaching techniques such as chanting, singing, call and response, and interactive activities.

Each class will use the following schedule:

- Multilingual Calendar Routine
- Phonics - letter blends, digraphs, vowel teams, etc.
- Sentence reading, spelling and writing
- Colors and Shapes
- Math - counting, adding, subtracting, money, time
- Sight Words 
- Rhyming  
- Reading comprehension, learn vocabulary, build fluency, create and write sentences.

Languages that will be included during our multilingual calendar time: 
Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese
