Hello! I have always known and felt the power of music. Having the opportunity to teach others has been an absolute blessing. I am passionate about teaching my students the importance of singing and playing healthily while supporting them as they grow and develop their musical skills. I want to give opportunities to my students that will allow them to experience the music connection. I will be teaching classes that focus on general music, singing, violin, viola, and using sound meditation for relaxation and relieving stress.

In 2004, I graduated with a bachelor of music in Music Education specializing in voice and violin and a viola secondary for one year. I've been singing since I could talk and playing the violin for over 30 years. As a singer, I have participated in choirs, a jazz group, opera workshops in college, and a girls' octet. After college, I felt like my voice wasn't relaxed when I sang and for years sought out a voice teacher who could take my voice to the next level. I was blessed to mentor with Seth Riggs, whose vocal technique is all about vocal health- relaxing the larynx, forward vowel placement, and singing as simple as speaking. This technique put me in the direction of a more holistic approach to singing. Learning how to free your voice and free your body will enable you to stay connected with your voice and find joy in singing. I love that every voice is unique. My goal as a teacher is to support each student in finding the power and uniqueness of their sound. Discovering the power of your voice builds confidence and gives you the tools and ability to sing your best.

As a string player, I have participated in orchestras, string quartets, and several duo groups. I've played 1,000s of gigs over the past 16 years specializing mostly in wedding ceremonies and cocktail hours. I've written, arranged, recorded, and edited music as well.
As a violin and viola teacher, I want to give you the tips and tricks that will aid you in playing your best. Creating a good bow sound, playing in tune, and keeping a steady beat are essential foundations. Connecting to your instrument and playing from your heart is what will set you apart from the person playing next to you. Foundations and the classics are important, but I also encourage my students to explore other styles of playing, including improvisation.

I always connected to music on a deep level. When I discovered sound meditation using singing bowls, I began to mentor and learn how to utilize them as a way to relax, release stress, and restore. Learning these techniques have given me the opportunity to connect even more to music and share it with others.

Here are some FUN Facts about me (You already know I LOVE MUSIC!)

1. I have twin girls.
2. I love baking bread from scratch. That's right no bread machine. Just my hands kneading the dough.
3. I found out 10 years ago I was allergic to gluten, milk, and eggs. Now I have fun creating recipes that are allergen friendly.
4. My favorite place I traveled to was Hawaii. It was AMAZING!
5. I grew up in Hanover, PA where Utz potato chips and Snyders Pretzels are made, and now I live close to Hershey, PA, the sweetest place on earth. That's what you call a balance of salty and sweet!!!!
