Class Description:

Are you interested in understanding how organizations manage their most valuable asset—people? This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Human Resource Management (HRM) at the college level, designed specifically for high school students. You will explore key HRM concepts such as recruitment, employee training and development, performance management, and employee relations. Through interactive lessons, real-world case studies, and hands-on projects, you’ll learn how HR professionals help build strong, effective teams and contribute to the overall success of an organization.

Class Experience:

This course is structured to be engaging and interactive, with a mix of lectures, discussions, and group activities. Each week, you’ll dive into a new aspect of HRM, exploring how these functions operate in real business environments. You’ll participate in role-playing exercises to understand recruitment and selection processes, work in teams to develop employee training programs, and analyze case studies to see how companies manage employee relations. My teaching style emphasizes practical application, so expect to collaborate with your peers and apply what you’ve learned to solve real-world HR challenges.

You’ll also have opportunities to ask questions, participate in group discussions, and receive feedback on your projects, helping you to develop a deeper understanding of HRM concepts. By the end of the course, you’ll not only have a solid foundation in HRM but also a clearer idea of whether a career in HR might be right for you.
