Boom!Pow!Wham!Avengers Superheros unite for this one time course to learn all about financial responsibility.

This one time course will be an introduction to basics of financial responsibility such as : needs vs. wants, saving vs. spending, income vs. expenses, and budgeting. This is designed to be a fun course to get students interested in the topic. This will not be an in depth lecture into each of these definitions, but rather a fun introduction to help learners start thinking about these ideas. This will be an interactive class. If you have a student who would prefer to not be called on, please let me know before class so that I am aware! I never want to make a student feel uncomfortable if they would prefer to just listen.

Introductions: Students will introduce themselves by saying their name, age, and their favorite superhero.

Needs vs. Wants : Students will learn the difference between needs versus wants. We will use a few examples to help students better understand the concept. (ex: If Hulk has ice cream.. is that a need or want? If he is drinking water... is that a need or want? etc.)

Save vs. Spend: We will cover the difference between saving money and spending money. I will ask students to share examples of saving vs spending. We will use a few examples to help students better understand the difference. (Ex : Captain America has two options - buy a new shield or keep his money in a piggy bank. Which one is saving? Which is spending? What do you think the smartest thing for Captain America to do would be?)

Income vs. Expenses : Students will learn the difference between income and expenses. We will use Spiderman as an example. I will explain that Spiderman has a job where he earns money. We will discuss some examples of what his income is and what some of his expenses might be.

Budgeting : To wrap up class, students will learn what a budget entails. We are going to go over an example of a budget for Iron Man. This will allow students to review the concepts that they have learned such as income vs. expenses, how much Iron Man will save, how much he will spend, etc.

*** Class times are approximate. Depending on the number of students, amount of interaction, etc., class may run a few minutes late or end a few minutes early. ***
-- Rapport building is very important for me to connect with my students and help them to learn as best as possible. Please understand that in my class I will likely ask rapport building questions throughout the lesson to engage students in the material. It will not be 25 minutes of straight lecture. However, it is of course always a priority and requirement for me to be sure we meet the lesson objective.----
