Chemistry is difficult, so a solid foundation is crucial for success. If you are interested in chemistry or currently taking a chemistry class, this 10-day chemistry crash course is for you. We will meet for 30 minutes Monday through Friday for two weeks (a total of ten 30-minute sessions) to learn each of the ten following chemistry topics: Week 1 - Monday: Chemistry Defined | Atoms, Ions, Isotopes Tuesday: The Periodic Table Wednesday: Chemical Bonding | Ionic Versus Covalent Bonds Thursday: Naming Chemical Compounds | Nomenclature Friday: Types of Chemical Reactions | Predicting Chemical Products Week 2 - Monday: Balancing Chemical Equations Tuesday: Dimensional Analysis | Conversions Wednesday: Calculations Involving "The Mole" Thursday: Stoichiometry | Mole Ratio Friday: Limiting and Excess Reactant Stoichiometry Problems *Topic order is subject to change slightly. Students will be able to ask questions, complete practice problems, and more. Students will receive a zip file with practice worksheets (with keys) and the PowerPoint slides for each day.
