Introducción a Canva: diseño gráfico para principiantes | Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, arte

OVERVIEW: 
This is a 4 week project oriented course where students will be guided via video lessons that I have pre-recorded, along with optional project extensions and challenges related to the topics covered that week. I encourage everyone to attempt challenges so that the group can provide feedback. This course is meant to be a fun beginner friendly and creative course for students and to have them use their imaginations and creative freedom in their designs! In the recorded videos I will be mentioning the use of posts for social media as examples since a huge portion of graphic design is used for social media. 

Each week students will get access to:
- A video recording detailing the step by step process on creating different types of content for the lesson of the week
- Feedback on projects and on any questions the students have relating to the topics covered via the message board
- A weekly challenge from me.

STUDENT TO STUDENT INTERACTION:
Students will post their finished projects every week to the classroom page. The other students should evaluate the posted works by leaving constructive feedback such as why they liked the work or what they would change. 

WEEKLY LESSON PLAN:
Week 1 - Canva Environment
Overview: We will explore the Canva environment and view the different types of designs we can make. We will also create a simple design together.
Students will learn how to:
■    Navigate Canva
■    Choose the type of design they want
■    Create a new design (fonts, images, etc.)
■    Etc.

Week 2 - Thumbnails and Images (Useful for YouTube & Instagram)
Overview: In this class we will be creating designs which could be used as YouTube thumbnails, Instagram posts or just stand alone images.
Students will learn how to:
■    Choose the size of their posts
■    Upload media to Canva
■    Check specific social media templates
■    Export finished product
■    Etc.

Week 3 - Creating an Animated Logo (Useful for companies or brands)
Overview: We will be learning about logos and creating a logo in class. We will also learn how to animate it! 
Students will learn how to:
■    Animate their designs
■    Utilize Stickers
■    Export videos
■    Etc.

Week 4 - Video Post (Useful for TikTok)
Overview: In our last class students will learn how to create a video in Canva using animated designs and videos (no personal video required)
Students will learn how to:
■    Incorporate videos into their designs
■    Add music to designs
■    Etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
■    As noted in the Supply List, the learner should create a FREE account (which is required for this class) on the Canva website: www.canva.com this will allow you to save your designs.
■    You do NOT have to have social media for this class. The videos just use social media as examples.
■    You do NOT have to use personal images or videos for this class.
