Experiencia de clase

🔐 This class is first in the series of Digital Photography classes, which can be completed by learners using **any kind of digital camera.**

🖇️ Prerequisite: None

⏳ Estimated Time Commitment Outside of Class: 2-4 hours each week that class meets

✅ The material of this class is comparable to my DSLR Photography 101+201 classes, minus the focus on DSLR settings. This is a great fit for learners with a camera that isn't a DSLR/mirrorless, or who don't have an interest in learning manual settings.

The class offers an introduction to fine art photography. It is designed to be an in-depth small group experience, supporting students in learning and practicing the art of photography and increasing their ability to understand the visual languages of photography.

✴ This class is highly interactive and goes in-depth into introductory creative concepts.

✴ Each week's lesson builds on the last, weaving in material on compositional awareness as well as working with increasingly complex lighting situations.

✴ While class provides structure, support, information, and inspiration, the way to learn photography is taking pictures! To this goal, targeted projects are assigned each week. Projects are directly connected to the week's lesson, and are set up to encourage experimentation and discovery, in order to facilitate a successful learning process.

✴ Each class, students will expand their knowledge of the possibilities of photography, through learning about a the work of a specific photographer from history

✴ Each class, students will be offered journal prompts to support their creative process and exploration of various photographer's styles.

✴ Before the following class meeting each student will turn in their photos, to share and discuss their experience and any questions around the assignment. They will also share positive feedback with each other as a way to practice the language around the new terms and concepts. Small class sizes ensure plenty of 1:1 support and discussion of each student's work.

✴ My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and down-to-earth, while also being thorough and able to meet student's high level interests.

✴ I am happy to provide a grade or any other assessment/feedback if needed for credit purposes, just message me! Assessment, when requested, is based on: participation/attendance, journal completion, project completion, and weighted to unit 4/final projects.
