Students will be taught the importance of digital citizenship and their role online. They will also learn how to keep themselves safe in the virtual world. Valuable topics to be covered include: Day 1: Media Balance and Well Being, Privacy and Security Day 2: Digital Footprint and Identity, Relationships and Communication Day 3: Cyberbullying and Media Literacy Students will be exposed to curriculum and will be provided for the opportunity for discussion throughout the lesson. They will be encouraged to participate and practice communicating with peers during this course. The content taught in this course will give students an understanding of the power of the internet and their footprint. They will learn what information is okay to share online and what information is private.

Students will learn about their digital footprint and the impact it has on the internet.
Students will learn to stay safe, plus the difference between personal and private information.
Students will learn how to be a good digital citizen through curriculum and collaboration with peers.

I have been a certified 3rd grade teacher for 10 years. As the online world changes and evolves for kids, we are now required to teach Digital Citizenship for our students. I teach this content in the traditional classroom and more importantly, to kids in the virtual classroom.
