Learn about Interior Design from the foundation of the house all the way to the roof in this 8 part course.

This course and each consecutive one is very thorough and goes through all aspects of the design process.  The course starts with this one, Part 1 and continues through all different aspects of the design process all the way to the Presentation which is Part 8 of this course.  

You will need to take the courses in order to complete the entire design process.  

• You will learn how Interior Design is not just about "decorating" but also requires knowledge in design elements and structural elements of a space.
• You will learn what Interior Design presentations require, including space planning and codes to consider.
• You will learn why Interior Design requires you to know everything about a space in order to make professional designs that can be used for build, decorating or renovations.
• You will also learn more about how to create professional designs if you complete the entire course through all 8 parts, including lighting, bathrooms, kitchens and other rooms.

At the end of the course, learners will have an understanding of completing projects at a professional level that replicates the work in my personal and professional design portfolio in my daily full time job as a designer.

This is not a guided instructional art class. Learners will be able to create their own projects based on and inspired by the art in the lesson.  The learners will be given prompts to start their project but the goal is to be creative.  I will also create an example to share with the class and give some alternatives for those learners that may have a creative block.  

𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋 - All Skill Levels 

Each week, learners will be expected to upload their weekly projects before the start of the next lesson. I will be working alongside everyone, giving feedback, offering ideas, and helping along the way!

We will be using Google Slides, Canva, Milanote Free, Sketchup Free, Planner5D Free 

For more research I will be suggesting Google Art and Culture, Wikipedia, Pinterest and general google searches

• Introduction to the lesson and objective for that week
• Review the prior week’s lesson 
• Learn the concept and participate in engaging activities, discussion, examples and observations
• There will be additional homework activities throughout the course that include creating presentations, a project, an essay, or another form of creative presentation creation.

ꜱᴛᴜᴅᴇɴᴛ ᴇxᴘᴇᴄᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴꜱ

This is an interactive live class, there will be lessons that require your attention and interaction throughout the class time.  There will be projects and homework for you to complete between each class. 

• Students are encouraged to share homework in the classroom 
• Students are encouraged to ask questions, ask for feedback and share any experiences they have had while participating with the lesson or content

• You may watch the lessons afterwards - every lesson is provided as a recorded session.  You can always come back and refer to the lesson if you need to re-watch or understand the concept or lesson

*Please note: If a learner is 10 or more minutes late for class, the learner will not be permitted into the classroom. The learner can watch the class recording.

*Please note: As per Outschool policy, I do not refund if I receive notice under 24 hours if a learner will miss class - regardless of reason. The learner can refer to the class recording.

My teaching style encourages curiosity and questions but I also love to encourage the learners to be independent creatives.  Everyone is at their own pace and creates their own projects inspired by the lesson.
