Story Time is a class designed for students who love to tell stories, play games, and be creative! Throughout our class, students will interact with the teacher, the other students, and play plenty of games themed to the story of the week. We will start each class by playing a warm-up game, read our story, and participate in games and activities themed to our book of the week! On occasion we will be participating in easy craft projects with things you can find around the house. In the event that we are doing a craft project, Ms. Emily will send a note on the classroom page the week of the class. Learners will be encouraged to participate in our class by moving their bodies, sharing ideas, and playing along. Parents do not need to stay with their little ones as they play, but it is encouraged that parents are nearby while the class is taking place. Our small class size ensures that all learners will have individualized attention from the teacher. Each week, we will explore a new book. Some books we will be reading soon: Week of Jan 10: The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats Join us as we explore what it's like to go out on a snowy day. As we read our story, we will imagine what it feels like on a cold day, how we move through snow, and even make a pretend snowman! Week of Jan 17: Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin, Jr. Play a fun animal naming game as we read about different animals in our book. Bring a stuffed animal as we say hello to each other. Play a fun animal movement game. Week of Jan 24: Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin Explore our favorite foods as we learn what a dragons favorite food is. Make a silly pretend food together as we play a movement game. Week of Jan 31: Welcome Home, Bear by Il Sung Na Let's talk about different animal habitats as we read about the bear's adventure to find a new home. Use our imaginations to come up with a new place we can live! At the end of the four weeks, we will select a new set of books to explore!
