Join me on a trip to Imagination Land, where the storytelling possibilities are endless! If you can think it, you can write it!

In this one-time class, you will use images to create a story or a plot for a movie. There will be multiple pictures to choose from, which means there will always be something for everyone. With several different settings, animals and events, you will be able to let your imagination run wild in order to create some truly magical stories.

Then, you will design a book cover or movie poster based on the tale you have created, so you can leave Imagination Land with a one-of-a-kind story to tell and a fun drawing to show off to all of your family and friends!
 
Lesson Summary:
·        Brief introduction/icebreaker to get to know each other
·        As a group, we will look at different images and discuss them
·        Learners will individually choose an image to base their writing on
·        They will then spend time coming up with ideas and crafting their stories
·        Afterwards, learners will design a book cover or movie poster based on what they have written
·        Finally, stories and drawings will be shared with the class (if the learner wishes to)
 
I am a fun and energetic teacher who will encourage as much interaction as possible. However, I will never force a shy child to take part if they would prefer to just listen; they are more than welcome to participate as and when they feel comfortable. They can share their story with us after the lesson (via the Outschool classroom) if that is something they wish to do. I am always willing to make additional accommodations for specific needs, so please message me if you have any questions.
 
Throughout the lesson, we will use games and interactive tools to add extra elements into our stories; this could be as little as a single word that must be used, or a completely different event that must be worked into the writing. This can make for some interesting and whacky stories! As learners are writing and drawing, I will join in too; my journey in Imagination Land will also be shared at the end of the lesson. There is no pressure for learners to complete their stories, as honing their creative skills is the main focus of the class. A single line can be just as important as an entire novel in Imagination Land!
 
This is a class for everyone; don’t worry if you’re no Picasso, as I am certainly no artist myself! I would however advise that ESL (English as a Second Language) students can speak and understand English at an intermediate-higher level, as you will be in a class with native English speakers. Lesson may finish early depending on the number of learners in attendance and student output.
