Let’s visit the beach by creating a tranquil scene while learning how to utilize brush strokes to mix colors as we progress through this painting together. We will discuss perspective to understand the illusion of space on a 2-dimensional surface. I will walk you through mixing, layering, and blending paints to create the desired effects to personalize your creations. Movement will be added with details such as the textural seafoam and grasses blowing in the wind. Techniques such as layering, scumbling, and dry brushing will create the desired effects of moving water. *Although it is intended that each learner completes a finished painting in the scheduled 90 minutes, please note that everyone works at different speeds. If more time is needed I encourage learners to spend extra time on it after the session is over. Please don't hesitate to utilize the classroom to message me with any additional questions.

Painting surface 8” X 10”, 9” X 12”, or 11” X 14” (this can vary with what supplies you have at home): Stretched canvas, canvas board, cardboard, thick paper, recycled materials like the inside of a cereal box, etc. Pencil Acrylic paint - I used white, blue, brown, green, yellow, and purple. You may use any combination of colors you wish and we will mix lighter and darker colors as needed. Brushes - a variety of sizes Water Cup Paper Towel A placemat and paint shirt or apron are recommended
