Grado de EE. UU. Kindergarten - 2
In this ongoing class, students will practice how to acknowledge and work through big emotions.
I will begin each session with a greeting and then I will read a social - emotional story. The students and I will discuss how the characters responded and we will share healthy responses we can do if we are in a similar situation. I will share calming strategies and how they can better manage their big emotions. We will end the lesson with an engaging song to wrap up feelings for the day. The main lesson shared during each session is that for big deals we have grownups that we trust that we can talk to and for little deals we can use our strategies to calm ourselves and solve those concerns on our own or with our friends.
Here are the 5 texts that we will use in the course for the 5 weeks of this cours (All titles are from the Get Epic website):

Topic: The difference between big deals and little deals.
We will read: Embarrassed by Charly Haley.
The focus is, everybody feels embarrassed sometimes. Here are strategies to help if you feel embarrassed.

Please note that even though this is presented as a 5 week course, each session can stand alone. During each lesson your child will review how to acknowledge their own big emotion, as well as big emotions in others. We will practice various calm down strategies /exercises that they can do to help themselves to have a sense of balance again after experiencing a big emotion. Each session we will review big deals and little deals ( When I need a grown-up to help me versus when I can solve a little problem such as sharing a toy with a friend or sibling on my own). We also discuss the basic idea of boundaries and that you can use your voice to share what makes you comfortable or not.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I'll be happy to help!
