Experiencia de clase

In this fun 4 week FLEX class we will be learning how to make coconut macaroons, french macarons, fillings, and a beautiful rose macaron. The fillings we will learn how to make are cheesecake, vanilla buttercream, and chocolate ganache/frosting. During the finial week of our class you will become the teacher and I will become the student. You will do this by making a fun 2 to 5 minute tutorial video on how to make french macarons.

During this FLEX class you are able to take class at your our time. We will not be meeting in any live classes. All class assignments must be finished within the week. To count for class participation, you must comment on other classmates work.

You will also post in your finished baked goods in our class so we can see how beautiful you did.
For the final week of class you will have a 3-4 minute tutorial video that you will make on how to make french macarons. This is such a fun project to do!

Each weeks lesson will be a pre recored Youtube video of the instructor teaching you how make these delicious goodies.

A few precautions about this class are as followed

⚠️ Allergy warning: macarons do contain nuts.
⚠️ Pre caution: make sure to use heat protective oven mitts when using the oven to avoid burns.
⚠️The macaron shells are gluten free.
⚠️If your learner is not using a squeezable food coloring, please be advised that we will need to use a butter knives or toothpicks to get the gel color out of the container. Please make sure that it is not a sharp knife for safety.

This is not a foolproof class. Macarons are very tricky and finicky cookies to make. It took me a month to learn how to perfect these cookies. Not all adults know how to make them. If your learners cookies do not come out “perfect” that is okay. I will be a very proud teacher no matter how the macarons come out. I am available after class if your learner needs any additional help.

Here is what we will be learning through the 4 weeks.

Week 1: We will learn how to make coconut macaroons. We will also be discussing how to pronounce macaroon vs macaron and which is the correct pronunciation. We will be reading and learning about where the macaroon came from. There will be a quiz due at the end of the week. You will post a picture of your coconut macaroons in our classroom. You will also need to comment on another students work to count for this weeks participation.

Week 2: We will learn how to make the French macaron. We will be learning about their origin as well as taking a quiz on them. You will post a picture of your French macaron in our classroom. You will also need to comment on another students work to count for this weeks participation.

Week 3: We will learn how to make 3 fillings, the cheesecake, vanilla buttercream, and chocolate ganache/frosting. During this week you will put the fillings and macarons shells together. You will let the class know what was your favorite filling to make. You will post a picture of your fillings and macarons in our classroom. You will also need to comment on another students work to count for this weeks participation.

Week 4: During this week you will show off your macaron skills and learn how to make a rose character macaron. You will post a picture of your beautiful rose macarons in our classroom.
This is the week your 3 to 5 minute macaron tutorial video will be due. I cannot wait to see those. You will also need to comment on another students work to count for this weeks participation.

I cannot wait to teach you along the way! I hope that you join this fun 4 week FLEX class!
