Learn how to draw a realistic bear with charcoal in this one-time class. No experience necessary!

The class will consist of three main parts: sketching in pencil, drawing with charcoal, and using an eraser to create highlights. 

Students will learn about layering, smudging, and erasing charcoal to create awesome fur textures. They will also learn fun facts about bears along the way!

Ms. Emily will guide students step-by-step throughout the class and will show a close up view of her hands while she demonstrates each step. 

Students will be encouraged to ask questions and share their artwork with the other learners in the class. It will be a warm and welcoming environment that will be a good mix of learning and fun!

🎨 I am an artist and educator with more than 10 years of teaching experience and I LOVE teaching art! 

👩‍🎓 I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts and have taught a wide range of art classes over the years, including teaching art to individuals on the autism spectrum. 

🦋 My specialities include drawing animals and nature, as well as painting with watercolour. 

🌈✨  I always strive to teach fun and engaging classes while creating an inclusive environment that puts learners at ease. I like to sprinkle educational facts into each art class and allow lots of room for creativity. I don’t believe art should be stressful and strongly believe that having good art experiences can lead to greater self confidence and improved mental health.
