Welcome to horse craft club!
In this ongoing horse craft club, we will be making fun crafts for our Breyers, Schleich, or other model horses.
We will be making a variety of horse accessories! These will be high-quality and realistic accessories.

Please make sure your learner has all the materials ready for class, some items may require adult supervision.
If we have time at the end of each class we will also do a show and tell if learners want to bring their favorite horse to show.

Below will be a list of the crafts we will do each week supply lists will be sent out on the Friday before class as usual. I know some of the kids might notice that saddles are not on this list. I have decided to do a separate saddle-making one-time class because I think this is going to be a challenging class and not everyone will be interested in doing it. I will keep this class posted when that class is up and ready to go.

Week of 5/20 halters

please look at the master list in the supply list section for what is needed coming up. A hot glue gun, ruler, scissors, and pen are needed for almost every class. I also off kits where you can order supplies needed for each project. Kits come with enough material to build at least 1-2 of each project plus any patterns or printables pre printed.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. I also am happy to take requests from learners on items they want to make. This class is a loop so eventually we will circle back around to the beginning and start over.
This will be a very hands-on crafty club please be aware of your learner's abilities using items such as using a hot glue gun and heavy-duty scissors.

Younger learners are welcome with adult assistance. I ALWAYS encourage parental involvement in this class no matter the age of the learner.

-For the tiny supplement pages Change it to printing 6 on one page in your printer setting so they do not all print out on their own pages. You can also play around with the scale. I think I printed mine in 200% and that should be good if you get the suggested containers. I suggest printing these out on sticker paper. I will link my favorites here. But normal paper and a glue stick will also work. https://amzn.to/3OyqwPZ

Water troughs:
One large sheet of poster board. I prefer using black or blue poster board. If you opt for black, you can enhance the appearance by adding a thin layer of silver paint to give it a metal trough look. On the other hand, if you choose blue, the inside will resemble water, allowing you to paint the exterior in your preferred color. However, feel free to select any color you prefer.

Round pens:
Foam Board: Acquire one sheet of foam board, pre-cut into a 16" circle. If you are crafting for Schleich-sized figurines, the 16" size is ideal. However, if you are working with Breyer-sized figurines, please cut your board to a size that complements the dimensions of your chosen Breyer horse. In some cases, you may need to use two pieces of foam board to create a large enough circle for Breyer horses. You can find suitable foam board at this link: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Pen-Gear-Ultra-Strong-White-Foam-Board-20-x-30/143526035?athbdg=L1102&from=/search

Hello everyone, I'm Britney! I am so glad you popped into my bio to learn more about me.
I teach 2 main topics on Outschool. The first one being classes about horses, the other about YouTube. I would love the opportunity to share why I choose these very different topics.

Why teach about horses?
Well first off who doesn't love horses? am I right? What is not to love about these wonderful and powerful animals?
I have been riding since I was about 9 years old so over 20 years now. I ride mostly English although I did have a brief spot on the high school rodeo team where I competed in barrel racing. Even though I loved barrel racing my passion was in jumping. I competed in jumping all over the United States for over 10 years. I have run my own lesson and training program for multiple years as well as trained with some of the best equestrians in the US including Bob McDonald who is a famous trainer and husband of Olympian dressage rider Debbie McDonald. To say the least I have an incredible passion for horses and love teaching other horse-loving kids all about horses as well.

So why teach about YouTube?
I have a YouTube channel with over 10K subscribers and have learned so much along the way. YouTube is an ever-changing platform but has not slowed down in growth. I love to study how the YouTube algorithms work and how to get great views on your videos. I have learned so much about how to have a successful channel and like to be able to benefit your aspiring YouTubers by providing the knowledge all in one place. I offer two main YouTube classes. A "crash course" where we go over everything and a social/support group in an ongoing class format where they can come together to meet other like-minded creators. Video creation and YouTube are a big passion of mine and I think it's wonderful to support like-minded children on their YouTube journey.

My teaching style:
I am a fun and upbeat teacher with a hand on conversation-based learning style. I like to include my students in every aspect of the teaching process whether it be asking questions or encouraging communication between my learners. I like to make sure my students are engaged and excited to take my classes. I want every class to be fun as well as an awesome learning experience.

Some fun facts about me:
I am the mother of 3 wonderful children ages 9, 12, and 14.
I live in Boise, ID but am originally from the Bay Area in Ca. and lived in Jackson Hole, WY for 10 years in between.
I love the ocean.
I have 4 younger siblings one of which is 20 years younger than me.
I have 1 dog and 3 bunnies.

If anyone has any questions for me I am happy to respond and I would love to see one of your learners in my classes.
