Mantenga sus caballos bajo control: aprendamos sobre caballos, manejo y cuidados - 3 días

My teaching style is student-centered with a blend of direct instruction, question and answer discussions, and active student involvement with each activity.  Using virtual hands-on learning time with 'real live horses' in our barn, students will be taught handling and grooming techniques to take a horse from "pasture dirty to saddle ready." 

During our first class session, we will focus on gaining basic horse knowledge (horse history, breed types, coat colors and markings, horse body parts) and how to work safely around horses. We will work hands-on with real-live horses for demonstrations in this class related to coat colors, markings, breed types. 

During our second class session, we will review key details from our first class and we will learn how to properly halter, lead, cross-tie, and handle a real-live horse/pony while on foot.  There will be an emphasis on vocabulary, proper procedures, and safety in this class with handling and grooming.  Students will learn how and why we use a curry comb, a mud brush, a body brush, a face brush, and a hoof pick.  

During the third class session, we will focus on students recalling and applying what they learned from the first two sessions in a virtual "hands-on" class.  Students will be asked to properly identify and apply horse handling and grooming vocabulary, as we will handle and groom at least one real-live horse/pony from "pasture dirty to saddle ready."  Students will be able to interact with me (and each other) through conversation and question/answers.
