What will be taught? In this course, students will explore a variety of historical mysteries and conspiracies, learning how to analyze evidence, evaluate different theories, and develop critical thinking skills as they uncover the stories behind unsolved historical events. What topics will you cover? The course covers intriguing topics such as the Lost Colony of Roanoke, the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, the curse of King Tutankhamun's tomb, the Bermuda Triangle, Stonehenge, and the legend of the Loch Ness Monster. How is your class structured? The class is structured over 8 weeks, with each week focusing on a different historical mystery. Each session includes a mix of presentations, discussions, and interactive activities. The final week allows students to present their own research on a mystery of their choice. How will you teach? I will teach using a combination of interactive lectures, group discussions, hands-on activities, and multimedia elements like slides and video clips. Lessons are designed to be engaging and accessible, with accommodations provided as needed to support all learners. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is student-centered, focusing on engaging students through interactive and varied instructional methods. I emphasize critical thinking and encourage students to explore different perspectives while ensuring the material is accessible to all learning styles. How much will learners get to interact with you? This class is self-paced, and will utilize videos for each student to access. Office hours will be on a scheduled basis.
