Welcome to Algebra 1! This class will explore quadratic equations, factoring, how quadratics are expressed as a graph and much more Students will be exposed to different ways to solve an equation, with multiple practice times in and out of class with homework. Students are encouraged to ask questions in class and work on the problem solving during class. Student must commit to working on homework everyday out of class and be prepared to answer questions in class. Mastering Math concepts takes time and it is a process that requires patience to:- - Introduce the concept. - Practice, practice and practice some more. - Master the concept. - Teach another person. Class Structure: 20 minutes - Lesson 20 minutes - Practice in Class 10 minutes - Questions and Review Week of Mar 8th: Algebra foundations Week of Mar 15th: Solving equations & inequalities Week of Mar 22nd: Working with units Week of Mar 29th: Linear equations & graphs Week of Apr 5th: Forms of linear equations Week of Apr 12th: Systems of equations Week of Apr 19th: Inequalities (systems & graphs) Week of Apr 26th: Functions Week of May 3rd: Sequences Week of May 10th: Absolute value & piecewise functions Week of May 17th: Exponents & radicals Week of May 24th: Exponential growth & decay Week of May 31st: Multiplying & factoring Week of June 7th: Quadratic functions & equations Week of Jun 14th: Irrational numbers
