These activities are designed to be fun and easily manageable for young learners with the support of their parents. Frequency: Homework will be assigned after each class session, three times a week. Each assignment is intended to take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete. Examples of Homework Assignments: Day 1: Draw and label a picture using the day's high-frequency words. Day 2: Create a short story or sentence using the high-frequency words from the lesson. Day 3: Find and take a picture of household items that represent the high-frequency words. Checking for Correctness: Homework will not be formally graded, but it will be reviewed for completion and effort. During the next class session, students will have an opportunity to share their homework, and the teacher will provide positive feedback and encouragement. This sharing time helps reinforce the words and allows for informal assessment of understanding. Requirements: All homework assignments are optional but highly encouraged. The goal is to reinforce learning in a fun and pressure-free manner. Students are invited to share their completed homework, but it is not mandatory. Besides the regular school subjects, I also teach chess, coding which includes programming and web design and I also a have a mentoring group for young boys in Middle School. I am a licensed teacher in Childhood Education Grades 1-6 and Special Education Birth to 2nd grade. I also hold administrative licenses for School Building and District Leader. My Bachelor's degree is in Computer Technology with a minor in Computer Graphics. I also have two Masters degrees in Childhood Education grades 1-6 and in Educational Leadership.
I believe that you must educate children the way you would want your child to learn by providing multiple ways for that child to grasp the information. We all learn differently and it is our job as educators to meet the child where they are and then move forward together.
