My courses help to build the 5 Cs - creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking and character. Whether your kids are home-schooled or attend public/private school, this arts-based workshop will benefit your child. It uses a comic book to teach life skills on dealing with bullying, build self-awareness and self-confidence, that they can practice in daily interactions and take with them through life. Gary is based on a real person who is a 4-sport champion. The stories presented are those of real people. It uses an arts-based approach to explore the issue of bullying, difference ad inclusion. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Bullying continues to be a major issue for young people - children and youth. I have been offering these workshops in-class to kids in schools and community centers. Materials have been approved by School Board curriculum reviewers. Comics have long been a medium for telling stories to teach, educate, inform and entertain. This workshop uses the comic book form as a pedagogical tool to create engaging content to promote learning and retention – educating while entertaining. The workshop is interactive, participatory and creates a safe space for discussion of issues of bullying, discrimination, diversity and inclusion, and also allows artistic self-expression for kids.
