1 hora por semana. I assign practical (usually fun) small, weekly art challenges for students as a way to help them build their art skills - and portfolios in the long run. I strongly encourage my students to commit 1 hr + per week - if they're serious about making progress in improving their art skills.Evaluación

Throw me your toughest, most desperate drawing challenge, and I will show you how you can overcome it! Welcome to "Help! My Drawing's Stuck!" This 1-1 art mentorship venture is BEST for kids & youths who: • Can't resist the urge to draw on EVERYTHING, including sketchbooks, iPads, walls, napkin papers, textbooks...etc. • Feels constantly stuck with their drawings. • Are young illustrators who are stuck with 3D perspective drawings. • Wants a dedicated mentor to help them develop a smashing art portfolio (one of the world's toughest design schools) • Beginner young artists who are intent to learn new drawing skills. • Design-savvy kids who want to get started on concept art & entertainment design. * Digital painters seeking constructive feedback • Seeks weekly "draw-over" live demo from an expert professional designer. • Is brave & humble enough to admit that their drawings need help. WHAT THIS 1-1 CLASS DELIVERS Each week, throw me something you're really stuck on, and I (Mr. Dan) will show you how to overcome your challenges with a live demo and "draw-overs", where I take a snapshot of your "problematic drawing", and I'll draw over your art to show you how I'd fix it! In addition, on the weeks where you have no particular "Help, My Drawing's Stuck!" requests, I will teach or review a new art skillset that'll MEETING STRUCTURE: Part 1 (about 5 min): Meet & Greet, Rules & Challenge Issued - After reviewing general classroom rules (no profanity, explicit imageries, respect the classroom), the mentee (student) is encouraged to throw Mr. Dan their most desperate drawing challenge of the week. Part 2 (about 25 min): Live Demo - I will dive into my student's "problematic art" or demo request via live demonstration, often doing so by superimposing my drawing solutions on top of the learner's art, and talking through my thinking process as I "fix" his/her art. Part 3 (about 30 min): Lab Time - my student will then be challenged to emulate, Either way, students are strongly encouraged to WORK AND CHAT at the same time!! This club focuses on creating a fun, self-paced learning community where we sketch and socialize simultaneously. We emphasize lots of practice - over perfection. As such, we may routinely repeat previously-covered lessons or subjects to give students opportunities to hone their skills. Lesson 1: Everything you need to know about sketching with pencils Lesson 2: Sketching, rendering, and shading with ink-pens Lesson 3: Perspective drawing - 3D Coconut Tree Lesson 4: Atmospheric Perspective & Ricocheting Compositions Lesson 5: Sketching textures - Tree Trunks, Barks, Broken Wood Lesson 6: Rendering with colored pencils Lesson 7: Rendering with markers Lesson 8: Sketching on iPad with Procreate Lesson 9: Plein Air watercolor sketching with sketchbooks Lesson 10: Plein Air painting with iPad & Procreate Lesson 11: How to design manga characters Lesson 12: How to design sets and architecture for story development Lesson 13: Basic storyboarding Lesson 14: Color Theory Lesson 15: Prop design for entertainment & manga characters Lesson 16: Art colleges, career, branding & portfolio development for college or creative jobs. SKILLSETS WE'LL COVER INCLUDES: • How to sketch from reference - without stressing out! • How to sketch only with felt-tip pens • How to visually "tell a story" or "convey a backstory." • How to control varying line weights & qualities • When to appropriately add bold lines to existing sketches • How to add natural organic materials such as leaves, dirt, barks, fur, wood planks, etc. • How to render weather effects • Atmospheric perspective • Basic 1 & 2 point perspective 3D • Basic set design • How to use composition to convey mood and story • Tips for digital painting with Procreate and Photoshop • Marker shading/coloring techniques • How to use white pencils or gouache to add hi-lights & reflections • Basics of how to render water reflections or chrome surfaces

This mentorship may lightly touch on studying the textures and structures of historical, weather-worn, antique objects, weapons, vehicles, or environments like abandoned buildings. We will only focus on sketching the design and texture aspects such as objects or environments. No blood, explicit sexual themes, and gore will be allowed.
