Calling all Harry Potter fans! 🧙

Welcome to our Harry Potter book club! We discuss two chapters of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets every week. On the classroom page, we will discuss our favourite parts of each chapter and our favourite characters. We will compare notes on different aspects of the story. For example: theme, setting, plot, emotions, point of view, etc. Learners will also be asked trivia + reflection questions.

Some fun activities throughout the course will include:

-create your house crest
-draw your own chocolate frog card
-design your own wizard/witch avatar
-concoct your own potions
-quiz battles
& more!

Once learners have completed the 18 chapters (9 weeks), they will receive a certificate of completion showing that they read the entire Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets book. Woohoo!

Book Synopsis:

The story centres around Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, when he discovers a string of messages on the walls of the school's corridors. These messages warn that the "heir of Slytherin" has opened the "Chamber of Secrets."


HOUSE CUP COMPETITION: In this class, Learners will be sorted into houses by the sorting hat in the first week. They will then be given optional assignments weekly to complete. They will be awarded house points if they complete the assignments! Then the winning house will win with the house cup! (This will be in the form of a printable certificate).

Please do not hesitate to join a section that has already begun! You will still be eligible to win the house cup and will still receive your certificate stating that you completed the reading of the entire book. 

If there is not a section time that works for you, please message me and I will do my best to open a time that works for you.
