Escritura a mano sin lágrimas: práctica de letras minúsculas y temas divertidos, con un OT
En este curso de 6 semanas para nuevos escritores, dirigido por un terapeuta ocupacional, nos reunimos dos veces por semana. Cada semana aprendemos letras agrupadas por formación, practicándolas de forma individual y en palabras sencillas a través de juegos y actividades temáticas.

This class is taught by an occupational therapist. This class is perfect for the youngest learners. We meet twice a week, focusing on one group of letters each week. In the first session, we use printable worksheets to trace and then write each letter. In the second session, we play games and use the letters to write simple words. We will complete an activity that sorts the lowercase alphabet into the 3 types of letters (sky, grass, worm). We will learn simple hand exercises using a rubberband, review our legibility rules, and practice writing words while creating a silly story.

I worked for 20 years as a school-based occupational therapist for ages 3-21. The majority of my time was spent with preschool through fifth grade students. I have completed all of the Handwriting Without Tears professional development and am currently working towards my Handwriting Without Tears Certification.

I use a consistent class format each week that provides learners structure and predictability. I break tasks down into simple steps that we practice multiple times and in a variety of ways to promote carryover.
Learners should be able to name all of the letters of the lowercase alphabet and should be able to copy the following shapes: +, /, \, and O.
