Experiencia de clase

In this one hour class, students will learn the overview of the science behind making mistakes and how to develop a positive growth mindset.

We will learn the overview of;
- The science of our brain when we learn and when we make mistakes
- The language of a Fixed Mindset and a Growth Mindset
- Tools and strategies to develop a Growth Mindset

By the end of our class, students will;
- Understand the difference of a Fixed and Growth Mindset
- Create a hands on project representing their brain when making mistakes
- Sort language of a Fixed and Growth Mindset
- Discover the impact of using Growth Mindset language to self and to others
- Analyze and discuss scenarios with different mindsets
- Set a personal mindset goal

I will provide instruction through discussion, as well as visual aids such as slides and video clips from Class Dojo's Big Ideas Program. My teaching style is centered around student-teacher and student-student relationships. The class will largely focus on discussion, sharing ideas and making personal connections to the conversations.

Students do not need any prior knowledge to participate in this class and discussion.

For a more detailed course, students and families may wish to enroll in "Growing a Growth Mindset" Camp. This camp is an extended version of this one-time course that digs deeper into each topic and provides more time for additional application and activities.
