¡Club de entrenamiento para NIÑAS! (Adolescentes)

Welcome to the Workout Club! Class will begin with some social time. The girls and I can chat about some of our favorite ways to stay active, goal setting, and nutrition-- or just life! Whether we had a week full of setbacks or victories, this is a safe place to find encouragement and motivation! Having a workout partner or group makes working out fun and we are more likely to stick to our routine! It's important to note that fitness isn't about how you look, it's about how you feel!...
- Girls will learn various stretches and exercises throughout class. I will teach them proper form by modeling both the correct and incorrect ways to perform each exercise. Improvement in the areas of strength, balance, flexibility, and agility.
- The goal of this class is to help promote a love for physical exercise and health! I seek to do this by providing a comfortable and inviting environment for the girls while we also build camaraderie with one another.
- They will also be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association.
- According to the American Heart Association: Active kids are more likely to have: -a healthy weight -stronger, healthier bones and muscles -better heart and brain health -improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving
- According to the American Heart Association: Active kids are more likely to have: -better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading & writing -lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes & some kinds of cancer
- According to the American Heart Association: Active kids are more likely to have: -less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression -less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior
- According to the American Heart Association: Active kids are more likely to have: -improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem
- According to the CDC, "it is recommended that children ages 6-17 years should do 60 min. of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity daily, including activities that strengthen bones (like running/jumping) and that build muscle (like climbing or pushups)."

-Comfortable clothes, sneakers -Water (for hydration) -2 additional water bottles (these will be used as our 1lb weights)- if you have small hand weights/dumbbells 1-10lbs you are encouraged to use those, but weights are not required. You can pick up an inexpensive pair at Walmart, Amazon, or even a Dollar Store. -Optional mat or pad as some exercises will be performed on our knees or on the ground. -Small space clear of objects

Parental guidance is suggested just to make sure your child is staying hydrated and resting when needed. But don't worry! We will take plenty of group water and breathing breaks! Please make sure you have a small, clear space to exercise in. It is suggested to wear athletic sneakers.
