Have you ever wanted to explore and learn more about the characters of Star Wars? Have you ever wondered how much they developed throughout their Star Wars journeys? In this ongoing class, we will dive into each character's life and really get to know who they are, what they are about, and how the force guides them through this amazing saga. After learners have gone through the character's background and history in my lecture each week, they will engage in an interactive discussion about their thoughts and opinions about the character. They will also use their critical thinking skills to answer discussion questions on "what if" scenarios. We will also discuss what character traits make them a hero, sith, leaders, etc. There will be slides, pictures, and video clips for the students to read and view during the class. The only required experience or knowledge learners should have before attending the class is to be familiar with Star Wars. It would definitely not hurt them to watch or re-watch the Star Wars movies, animated series, or television series. Here is a weekly breakdown of which characters we will get to know: Week of February 14th- Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader Week of February 21st- Luke Skywalker Week of February 28th- Leia Organa Skywalker Solo Week of March 7th- Ahsoka Tano Week of March 14th- Obi-Wan Kenobi Week of March 21st- Yoda Week of March 28th- Boba Fett Week of April 4th- Emperor Palpatine Week of April 11th- Darth Maul Week of April 18th- Mace Windu Week of April 25th- Han Solo Week of May 2nd- Chewbacca Week of May 9th- Lando Calrissian Week of May 16th- R2D2 Week of May 23rd- C3PO Week of May 30th- The Mandalorian Week of June 6th- Grogu (Baby Yoda) *More characters will be added each week after June 6th.

I have been teaching for 18 years in elementary education. Not only do I teach character traits, one of the main skills I teach in Reading and English is critical thinking, which is to think more deeply into and beyond the stories or subjects. I'm also very knowledgeable as a Star Wars fanatic and I am absolutely involved in the saga.
