Lights! Camera! Action! WAIT! Hold on, directing a movie is not that simple. A film director is the captain of the ship, and has to know what every member of the crew does. The director is at the top of the decision pyramid for the whole project, for every department, from wardrobe to props, casting to locations, lighting to camera angles, and guiding the actor's performance during filming. Most directors also have a hand in what the final film edit looks like too. This class will describe how a film director does their job, including: - Understanding the parts of a film script and how they help guide the production - What film departments (such as props, wardrobe, makeup, etc) might be needed - Lighting choices, camera angles, and setting up shots - How to work with actors - What "post production" means and how it works, including editing and image enhancement There will be lots of room for questions and discussion of how learners can get started making their own video projects.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I have directed television shows ("The Manos Chronicles," "Vintage America with Ginger," "Hidden Gems") and voiceover actors for audio dramas ("Triune"). As the showrunner for these projects, I am responsible for every detail from pre-production through post-production. I have also been a production manager and production coordinator and worked closely with directors on a number of film and television sets of all budgets and sizes.
