In these classes we will be learning about Fractions; we will learn about "Equivalent Fractions, Reducing Fractions, changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers, and changing Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions". We will use these processes when adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. 
Students will receive some lecture style instruction, as well as, taking part in activities where they can interact with their teacher and their classmates. 
Week 1: Making Equivalent Fractions and Reducing Fractions, students will receive instruction and then participate in activities to practice identifying and creating Equivalent Fractions and Reducing Fractions. 
Week 2: Changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers, students will receive instruction and then participate in activities to practice identifying and changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers. 
Week 3: Changing Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions, students will receive instruction and then participate in activities to practice identifying and changing Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions.
Week 4;  Adding and Subtracting Fractions with reducing and changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers,   students will receive instruction and then participate in activities to practice adding, subtracting, reducing, and changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers.   
Week 5; Multiplying and Dividing Fractions with reducing and changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers,   students will receive instruction and then participate in activities to practice multiplying, dividing, reducing, and changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers.   
These classes are best suited for students that have learned the "basics of Fractions": numerators, denominators, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.

Hello, my name is Parri! 
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass. 
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person. 
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
