I have always loved Math! I think it is like playing a new game; once you find the rules to the game it is a lot of fun to play. In this on-going class we were embark on the subject of Fractions; these classes have been created for students that are new to the subject of Fractions. Students will begin the classes with an Introduction of Fractions and then we will continue to learn more concepts. Students will also receive some review which will benefit students joining the classes for the first time. Students will receive instruction from me and then be given opportunity to practice the new skill. Each class will include a game where students can interact with their classmates and their teacher. I want learning to be fun and students to gain confidence with each class. This is a five week class; we will cover the following concepts: 1. Introduction to Fractions: Numerators, Denominators, and Proper Fractions 2. Improper Fractions, Review Proper Fractions 3. Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Review Numerators, Denominators, and Proper Fractions 4. Multiplying Fractions, Review Adding and Subtracting Fractions, Numerators and Denominators 5. Dividing Fractions; Review Multiplying Fractions I look forward to meeting your child and encouraging them to love learning and Math!

Hello, my name is Parri!
I am so excited to be teaching with Outschool. I hope to teach classes in Phonics, Math, Art, and Sea Glass.
I have been teaching for 28 years; I taught for 25. 5 years in a Brick and Mortar school and for 2.5 years online. I have taught Reading, Language, Phonics, Literature, Spelling, Math, Social Studies, Canadian Studies, and Science. I LOVE teaching Phonics and Reading. Online I have been teaching children ages 4-14 to speak English. I also do tutoring with these ages and in these subjects both online and in person.
I believe teaching should be fun and at the same time assist students to reach their highest potential. I like to teach using games and activities that encourage learning in a fun way! I want my students to know I care about them and their learning.
One of the first classes I hope to teach is one about Sea Glass; I LOVE the beach. Since I was a child, I have been roaming beaches looking for sea glass; I also love making things with the glass too!
