¡Esta es una clase semestral para estudiantes de nivel intermedio bajo que necesitan seguir mejorando sus habilidades bilingües! Los estudiantes de lenguaje dual y los estudiantes de nivel intermedio bajo seguirán practicando cómo poner en orden sus ideas mientras hablan y escriben en español. Repasaremos vocabulario nuevo, expresiones en español y verbos de acción a través de narraciones, minihistorias, diálogos, gestos y juegos. ¡Únete a nosotros en cualquier momento! 🌟 👩🏫

This ongoing class is designed for Advanced Beginners / Lower Intermediate Spanish Students that already know the basics: colors, numbers, body parts, Days of the Week, some pet animals, descriptions, and some action verbs. My goal is to help students practice a lot of speaking and writing in Spanish while reading different fun mini-stories that we will re-tell and discuss together. During our meetings, I introduce new vocabulary that students will find / hear with "The Story of the Week". Students will take turns to participate in class exercises like re-telling the story, fill in the blank, make the sentence true, add a detail, etc. In addition, students will have to use their creativity and make their own mini-story and share it with the class. 🙋♀️🙋♂️ 🌟 Topics: Week 1 & 2: Alaska Week 3 & 4: Rafael y Los Piratas 1 Week 5 & 6: Rafael y Los Piratas 2 Week 7 & 8: El Esquimal Week 9 & 10: El Ladrón Week 11 & 12: El Dolor de Cabeza Week 13 & 14: La Prensa Week 15 & 16: Visita al Médico Week 17 & 18: Sabrina La Aplastadora Week 19 & 20: ¡Qué Lástima! In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces new vocabulary.

Hola Niños! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in Perú. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. I hold a B.S. in HR Management and I'm a Certified Interpreter/Translator for the Winchester Public Schools and local hospital. In addition, I'm TEFL certified and I have been a Spanish Teacher since 2004. My first experience as a teacher was in a regular classroom setting but since 2016, I have become a Virtual Spanish Instructor. Online platforms allow me to reach out to students from all over the World. I enjoy preparing my students try their first words in a foreign language. At the beginning they can be very hesitant but little by little, I help them build their confidence and speak in full sentences. My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
