This ongoing class is designed for students that have learned the basics of the Spanish language but want to keep improving their bilingual skills. Students should know: greetings, numbers, colors, some animals, some verbs. My goal is to help students to start building sentences while using their vocabulary and speak in the target language to share their thoughts and opinions. During our meetings we will review vocabulary and reinforce it with games. I provide optional worksheets and games to play during the weekends. Constant practice will help students demonstrate understanding and comprehension of the Spanish language. 🌟 Each week, we will cover different topics 👇 Week 1: Greetings / Verb Review: to ride, to play, to swim. Week 2: La Familia / Verbs: to drink, to eat / Nouns / Class activities Week 3: Action Verbs: To go, to come come back / Places Around the City. Week 4: Days of the Week / My schedule Week 5: Verbs: To write, to read / Nouns / Class activities Week 6: Extended Family / Verbs: To have, To want / Class Activities Week 7: Verbs: to walk , to run / Adjectives: fast, slow / Nouns / Mini-stories Week 8: At School Items / Class Activities / Games: I spy Week 9: Nationalities & Verb: to live (1st & 3rd person) Week 10: Transportation / Action Verb: To go / Class Activities Week 11: Action Verbs: to talk, to want, to say / Mini-stories / Class Activities Week 12 - Sports / Likes and Dislikes Week 13 - Hobbies / Action Verb: can (1st & 3rd person) Week 14 - Numbers 1-1000 / Summer Weather Week 15 - Summer Clothing / Verbs: to drink, to be More dates will be added... All students will read out loud instructions and vocabulary in the target language. This way, they will have the chance to practice and improve their enunciation and pronunciation skills in Spanish. After the session, I send a worksheet or a game so all students can review everything we have learned. I highly recommend to complete the worksheets and play the games so students can retain the information. Remember that learning a foreign language requires practice and a lot of repetition. As an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces new vocabulary.

Hola Niños! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in Perú. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. I hold a B.S. in HR Management and I'm a Certified Interpreter/Translator for the Winchester Public Schools and local hospital. In addition, I'm TEFL certified and I have been a Spanish Teacher since 2004. My first experience as a teacher was in a regular classroom setting but since 2016, I have become a Virtual Spanish Instructor. Online platforms allow me to reach out to students from all over the World. I enjoy preparing my students try their first words in a foreign language. At the beginning they can be very hesitant but little by little, I help them build their confidence and speak in full sentences. Teaching my language is a very rewarding experience! 😃Therefore, I have designed Online Spanish lessons for Beginners, Mid and Advanced students so my little and big learners can keep taking as many classes as they want. Your children can take One-Time lessons, Multi-Day classes, Ongoing Conversational sessions and / or participate in Book Readings, Spanish Camps or Semester Spanish Classes!

My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
