Are you looking to do more advanced crafts than just the normal jewelry making? Are you looking to learn new ways to explore your creative side? Join us for 5 days while we do a different teen craft each day. I will walk the students through doing the craft each day and field any questions that come up. Most of all, we will have fun chatting about the different crafts that we like to do! For each day, I will do the projects along with each of the students in real-time. THIS IS A MORE ADVANCED CRAFTING CLASS, SO PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR STUDENT IS UP FOR THE CHALLENGE. :) ***The photo of this class shows a photo of all of the different projects that we are going to do! Get excited!*** Day 1: Cutie Pie Eyelash Planter Pots - Adorable little pots where we will paint pretty little eyelashes on. These are perfect for a little succulent! Work along side me as we paint little miniature pots for our succulents. I will show the students a step-by-step process on how to hand-make one of the most popular room decorations right now. We will paint together while we learn little tricks in making a hand-painted pot. Day 2: Sugar Lip Scrub - Deliciously flavored lip scrubs that nourish and moisturize your lips! Work along side me as we create a flavored lip scrub. I will walk the students through creating their own hand-made lip scrub. I will go through the basics of how to make it and then students can work on creating their own scrub concoction in real-time. At the end of class, we will test out our scrubs! Day 3: Sharpie Tie-Die Sneakers - Decorate your plain white sneakers in the most amazing way! These turn out SO cool and are so fun for the summer! Work alongside me as we color our white shoes with sharpie markers and then use rubbing alcohol to make a cool tie-dye effect! This is one of the most popular activities among teen/tweens right now! This is a super fun activity to do and allows students to be really creative. Students can pick their own patterns and colors of markers. Day 4: Fairy Lights Canvas Art - Decorate the most gorgeous piece of art for your room and enhance the look by making it come to life with actual lights! Work alongside me as we create a fun piece of art that lights up! I will guide students in painting a canvas (students can choose what they want to paint - scene, quotes, glitter, etc.) (I will offer a few suggestions) and then I will show them the process of adding lights to their artwork. This is a really fun and exciting project to do! Day 5: Soap Jellies - Move over bath bombs... step aside shampoo bars... soap jellies are the best and coolest bathroom soap! They are so fun to make and smell amazing! Work alongside me as we create soap jellies in realtime. I will work with students to create the soap jellies and mixture. Students can choose their own mold, color, and scent. This is a really fun activity with homework being to test out your soap jellies! :)

Hi there! My name is Mrs. Rodenbeck and I am a middle school history teacher! I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th, grade history for the past 5 years! Before that, I taught high school history. I absolutely LOVE learning about people from the past! I like understanding how people lived in different times in history.
I studied anthropology in college. My goal as a kid was to be Indiana Jones! Archaeology and cultural anthropology are my favorite disciplines. I like to learn about what past peoples have built and how those things impact their culture. I’ve even done work for Chicago’s Field Museum since 2007. Now I work in the education department at the Field Museum with other teachers and bringing history topics into their classrooms.
I LOVE to be creative and do hands-on art... or crafts! I like to create things with my own hands and learn new techniques to make things! Crafts are amazing! There are so many fun and exciting things to learn about! I can’t wait to share them with you!
