Hello!! 👋🏿 Are you looking for math instruction for your child or to further enrich your child's learning? Come join us 2 days a week! My name is Mrs. Engle, and I am a certified mathematics teacher. 📚 With over 20 years' experience, my goal is to meet your child where they are at and to help them gain confidence along with mastering skills needed. 💪 If at any time your child needs extra assistance on any of our skills, please check out my 1 on 1 tutoring and enrichment. I look forward to meeting your child! ****Please note that if your child is just dropping in for a week, if they do not have prior knowledge of the topics, I have taught earlier that they may struggle. Please make sure to take that into consideration before signing up. I do not want frustrated children. I offer FREE tutoring and will do all I can to help your child, but communication is critical. If you do not let me know things, I cannot help. ***Please note that I do NOT offer make-up schedules if your child misses a class; instead, I ask that they watch the video recording. If your child then does not understand the class recording, please reach out. Otherwise, the playback video is what you will need to watch if you are out of class for the day or week. :) Topics that will be taught are the following: Whole Numbers and Decimals, Fractions (Comparing, Ordering, Multiplying, Simplifying, Dividing), Rational Numbers, Ratios, Rates, and Percentages, Units of Measure, Algebraic Expressions, Algebraic Equations, Inequalities, and Variables, and Geometry (Area and Volume). 2024-2025: August: August 5: Number Sense-introduction, welcome, games August 12: Place Value Patterns August 19: Place Value with Whole Numbers & Powers of 10 August 26: Powers of 10 September: Sept 5: Place Value with decimals Sept 12th: Whole Numbers in the Real World Sept 19th: Addition, Subtraction of Numbers Sept 26th: Multiplication and Division of Numbers October: Oct 7: Averaging with Numbers Oct 14: Place Value with Addition and Subtraction Oct 21: Roman Numerals Oct 28: Beginning Fractions EXTRA: Simplifying Fractions November: Nov 4: Adding and Subtracting Fractions Nov 11: Equivalent Fractions Nov 18: Review of ALL Fraction concepts December: Dec 2: Factoring Numbers Dec 9: GCF (Greatest Common Factors) Dec 16: Prime Factorization of Numbers 2025: January: Week 16: Reducing to Prime Numbers Week 17: Factoring Trees and Reducing of Fractions Week 18: Mixed and Improper Fractions Week 19 Ratios and Proportions Week 20: Common Multiples and LCM (Least Common Multiples) February: Week 21: Order of Operations Week 22: Decimals and place value Week 23: Adding and Subtracting Decimals Week 24: Multiplying Decimals by 10, 100, 1000 March: Week 25: Word problems Week 26: Adding/Subtracting decimals to the thousandths Week 27: Mean, Median, Mode Week 28: Mean, Median, Mode April: Week 29: Range Week 30: MN and Improper Fractions Week 31: Word prob with fractions *REVIEW WEEK/Game week May: Week 32: Mean Median Mode Week 33: Intro to Coordinate Graphs Week 34: Ratios and Rates P1 Week 35: Ratio and Rates P2 **Please note that lessons can change, be moved around, and made to fit the learners. I do NOT over test nor do I overload with homework. I do not do typical report cards, etc. I do keep in close communication with families. I do lots of verbal checking in classes, quick checks, and problem solving to make sure the concepts are locked in. This is not a typical brick and mortar class:). Please note that topics may change depending on learners and how they are doing. IF the learners in the class all need more time on a topic, I will happily give them more attention in this area. Also, please remember that we all have illnesses and unexpected things that arise. I will offer a make-up class for any sick days that are missed by myself. No refunds will be given for missed classes as the learner can watch the videos and do the homework at any time. All make-up teacher missed classes will also not give out refunds if you cannot make the meeting as you can watch the video at your leisure. Thank you! **IF at least 2 learners are not enrolled, you will be asked to move to a section with more learners! Thank you!!
