Welcome to 1st Grade Math. This course is a full curriculum to First Grade Math. This is a very interactive class that is full of activities to help each learner grasp each concept. I follow the "I do", "We do", and "You do" method. For example, I will introduce each concept, We will work on the activities together, you will apply what we have learned in your individual work. All assignments will be done during class. If we do not finish the assignment during class, it will be left for homework. *If there is anytime you need extra help with any of the math content and would like to signup for 1:1 classes we can definitely arrange a time that will work for you. All assignments will be accessed through google slides. A google slide link will be sent the day before class begins under classroom announcements. Detailed instructions will be posted under classroom announcements on how to access google slides along with a video tutorial. Learners will get to interact with myself and their classmates through lecture, games, slides, video clips, and discussion. *If you have signed up for this class and realize that this class is not for your student anymore, please contact me within the first 2 weeks of class (the first 4 classes) to get a full refund. If 2 weeks have passed and you are looking for a refund, please contact me via email and we will see what can be worked out. Below is an example of what the course schedule will look like. I have over 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents in both traditional and online learning environments. My background in child and adolescent development has given me a deep understanding of how young people process emotions, handle challenges, and develop the skills they need to navigate life with confidence.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development, and I am a certified life coach specializing in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), which focuses on practical techniques to shift mindset, improve communication, and develop emotional resilience. Additionally, I have a TESOL certification, which has allowed me to work with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
I began teaching on OutSchool in 2019, originally focusing on academic subjects such as math and early childhood education. Over the years, I’ve consistently received positive feedback from parents and students who appreciate my ability to connect, inspire, and create a supportive learning environment.
After experiencing a profound personal loss—the passing of my husband to stage 4 lymphoma cancer—I took a step back to focus on my own personal growth and healing. Through that journey, I realized how essential personal development is, not just for adults but for young people as well. This led me to deepen my studies in life coaching and emotional resilience, recognizing that students need more than just academic success—they need the tools to handle life itself.
Now, I bring all of that experience into We Ryze Together, a coaching program designed to help students build inner strength, develop emotional awareness, and approach life’s challenges with a sense of empowerment and ease. My approach is practical, supportive, and tailored to each student’s unique needs.
Through my years of working with children and my personal journey as a widow, single mom, and educator, I’ve learned that young people need more than just advice—they need guidance, encouragement, and real strategies that they can carry with them for life.
I look forward to working with your child and helping them rise into their full potential.
