Welcome to first grade math. This course is the full math curriculum for the first grade. This is a very interactive class that is full of activities to help each learner grasp each concept. 

I follow the "I do", "We do", and "You do" method. For example, I will introduce each concept, We will work on the activities together, you will apply what we have learned in your individual work.

All assignments will be done during class. If we do not finish the assignment during class, it will be left for homework. The first 2 classes will be review from part 1 of this class, so even if you missed part 1 of this course we will still have a review session so you won't fall behind. 
*If there is anytime you need extra help with any of the math content and would like to signup for 1:1 classes we can definitely arrange a time that will work for you.

*All assignments will be posted on Monday's and Wednesdays for the next day for class. All assignments will be available to print in PDF format at home. If you do not have access to a printer, then I strongly encourage you to signup using a google email address to Kami. Once you download the assignment you will then need to upload the assignment to kami and you will then be able to use limited tools for Free. The only tool you will need to use on Kami is the drawing tool. You can use any tablet or a desktop computer for kami.

Class 2- What counting looks like: Count, Write the number, spell the number
Week 2:
Class 1 - Counting by 5's 
Class 2 - Skip Counting by  2, 5's, and 10's
Week 3:
Class 1- Patterns (Number Patterns, Color Patterns, Shape Patterns)
Class 2- Patterns Continued (Number Patterns, Color Patterns, Shape Patterns)
Week 4:
Class 1: Growing Patterns (What are Growing Patterns)
Class 2: Greater Than, Lesser Than, or Equal Too
Week 5: 
Class 1: Ordering Numbers from Least to Greatest
Class 2:  Addition (Ways to make 10, 11,12)
Week 6:
Class 1 - Vertical Addition
Class 2 - Adding three numbers
Week 7:
Class 1 - Modeling Subtraction (Subtraction Sentences)
Class 2 - Subtraction using Pictures
Week 8:
Class 1 - Subtract Zero and All (using number line)
Class 2 - Subtract from (1-10 using number line)
Week 9:
Class 1 - Doubles
Class 2 - Doubles Plus 1&2
Week 10:
Class 1 - Fact Families
Class 2 - Use addition to subtract
Week 11:
Class 1 - Continue to use addition to subtract
Class 2 - Organizing data (tally marks and picture graph)
Week 12:
Class 1 - Interpreting Data
Class 2 - Continue to interpret data
Week 13:
Class 1 - Count by 10's to 120
Class 2 - Count by 1's to 120
Week 14:
Class 1 - Count on a number chart to 120
Class 2 - Count by 1's or 10's to 120
Week 15:
Class 1 Review of material

This course is broken up into two parts. Part 1 is offered in fall semester and and Part 2 is offered in the spring semester.
