Key identifying features of each species will be discussed, this can range from petals, stamens, leaves, leaflets, stems, texture, growing habit, habitat, optimal growing conditions, propagation methods, and fruit or tuber production. Each species will also be introduced as an annual or perennial species and what the difference between these two is and means for each species discussed. Newer terms used to describe these characteristics terms to your learner may need verbal elaboration and definition from the teacher not provided on the slide.
Students will be encouraged to read and speak the common and scientific name together as a class. Students will also be able to volunteer to read the text on the slides. If there are no volunteers, the slide lecture will be led by the teacher. Added notes and definition of terms will be provided by the teacher as we go through the slides.
