Join me for a frighteningly good time as we discuss a creepy Goosebumps book. Over the course of two weeks, students will be assigned a Goosebumps books to read. Some of each book will be read in class, and some will be assigned for reading at home. We will begin class with introductions and then move into reading and discussion of the Goosebumps book. I highly encourage students to participate in discussion. I will read some from the book and give students an opportunity to read as well if they would like to. We will use different reading strategies such as ask/answer questions, connect events to real life, discuss elements of the story such as characters, plot, climax, and solution. If we have completed the book, we will conclude class by doing a quick preview to our next week's book depending on time. Through reading and discussion, students will build upon their reading comprehension skills and reading fluency. This class is also a great way to meet new friends and practice social skills.
